What Happens at a
New Patient Visit
Welcome! We're happy you're here! We understand that not everyone has been to a chiropractor before and may not know what to expect. We would like to help you gain some understanding of what to expect and alleviate any anxiety you may have.
Exam
The doctor will meet with you to discuss any concerns or pain you are having. They will check your spine for abnormalities, check your range of motion and check for any misalignments.
X-Rays
If the doctor decides you need an x-ray before your adjustment, we will perform it in the office. We use digital x-rays which provide minimal radiation exposure and are a very important tool to help us to know what is affecting your spine.
Massage Table
Depending on your discomfort level, we will put you on the massage table where multiple rollers will work their way up and down your spine helping to loosen up your muscles and ligaments which will help make your adjustment more effective.
Hot/Cold Packs
After your massage, we will have either hot packs or cold packs ready for you. The moist heat penetrates into tight sore muscles and helps to loosen them up. Cold packs are used when there is inflammation present and helps to alleviate pain.
Report of Findings
The doctor will go over your x-rays with you to show you where any misalignments are and explain what treatments can be used to get you on the road to recovery.
Adjustment
Finally, you will receive your adjustment! The doctor will use a variation of techniques to perform your adjustment based off of your individual needs.
Checkout
After your adjustment, you will check out at the front desk with one of our amazing chiropractic assistants! They will collect any payment that's due and get you scheduled for your next appointment!
